tis tres amusing how much I blog when bored and avoiding something. And the phone bills I rack up. And the amount of useless information I gather.

It’s always when I absolutely have to do something else that I blog..

Or blogsurf. But in true “I don’t wanna sleep” style, here’s something I got off a friend of a friend’s blog, because I have so much to be thankful for:
‘feel like saying something? get it off your chest. say something to ten people, the most honest and heartfelt msg. do not leave a name, if it’s meant to be, they will know its for them. partners not included.’
to you – I thank you for your godliness and goodwill, patience and virtue, because with that you’ve shown me all that a modern Singaporean girl has to offer the world. You continue to inspire me, and your support and counsel is like a light as we navigate uni and beyond.
to you – Thank you for showing me that no matter how lost we might feel, some friendships transcend the ordinary. Thank you for picking me up and brushing me off, holding me and wiping my tears and sharing good times and laughter with me.
to you – Thank you for talks on philosophy and the mundane and suppers that shine in the night. You’re always there when I come home, ready to pick up where we left off, a rock in my nomadic life.
to you and you – thank you for building me a home away from home. Thank you for the crazy times, the unconditional love, and the constant whingeing and occasional asian blonde moments that you put up with. You’ve let me be a side of myself that I’ve never been before, and taught me to be comfortable in my own skin.
to you – my tall dark boy =). you always make me smile, and even tho we talk less often now, I always know that my dai kor is looking out for me, lucky thangachi I am.
to you, you and you – it’s almost been a decade hasn’t it? Or maybe it has been. Our friendship has survived exams, different schools, countries and continents, boys in all shapes and forms, education and the working world. Yet somehow every bagel I eat, or whenever I have people over at my place, I remember you, and remember the good times that you taught me to have.
and you – i forgive you. Even if i never actually tell you this, it’s over and done, laid to rest. You have your life, I have mine, and at the end of the day, you’re not going to recapture the past. Just forgive me my foibles, and I’ll forgive you yours.

A model of human risk factors proposed by James Reason where successive layers of cheese represent protections against risk and the holes in the layers represent errors, oversights, or weaknesses in the barriers; when the holes in the layers of cheese line up, accidents occur. (Oller, Oller and Badon, 2006)
a rather cheesy theory which is full of holes. =D

Echos down a hallway of mirrors, words from another life. Looking forward is sometimes like looking back.

It’s really lovely when you know that no matter how far you roam, there’re still people who’ll take you back in with no questions asked. To all my friends, aussie, singapore, anywhere in the world, who cheerfully set aside time to do everything from picking me up from the airport, getting my hair dyed, travelling the island for tea and laksa, doing last minute timetable changes, star gazing, or even drinking in to the wee hours of the morning while commiserating on the lack of good men, I thank you from the very very bottom of this small hamster’s heart for making my life so rich and worth living. I wouldn’t be anyone without all of you.
Much love and lasagne!

The road untravelled is always long,
but the road explored longer.
The path, it twists,
It bends,
It winds,
But soon it rests on sacred ground.
For what can be found in this land,
But the seeds of hope, of love, in kind.
Tho time may not bring gifts this year,
It lights the path, to go on and look back.
