Does anyone know a good recipe for authentic kweh lapis? It’s starting to unnerve me that while I have been the lucky recipient of many a cake, they are all inevitably of the same kind, a bit on the dry side and not enough spice.

I need to get up and cook. Nothing like a tasty morsel to tempt the soul.

It’s really lovely when you know that no matter how far you roam, there’re still people who’ll take you back in with no questions asked. To all my friends, aussie, singapore, anywhere in the world, who cheerfully set aside time to do everything from picking me up from the airport, getting my hair dyed, travelling the island for tea and laksa, doing last minute timetable changes, star gazing, or even drinking in to the wee hours of the morning while commiserating on the lack of good men, I thank you from the very very bottom of this small hamster’s heart for making my life so rich and worth living. I wouldn’t be anyone without all of you.
